The Progressive Insurance Automotive X PRIZE is a $10 million competition being conducted to encourage the development of a new generation of vehicles that can achieve 100 MPGe (miles per gallon or its energy equivalent). The competition entries included inventors, universities, start-ups, established automakers, and one high school.

The American College has signed an agreement with MetLife to sponsor the new ‘MetLife Learning Center’. The center, located on The College’s campus in the suburbs of Philadelphia, will be the primary location for The College’s top academic programs.

The Hartford Financial Services Group inc. is providing 29 of the nation’s YMCAs with $10,000 grants. The goal of these grants is to improve educational opportunities by providing programs that offer services such as college access support, family enrichment, leadership development and financial literacy.
