To no one’s surprise, the star of Aflac’s revamped Web site is the insurer’s iconic “spokesduck.”

The Aflac Duck is featured in more than 40 humorous and interactive animations on the redesigned site, Aflac.com, which was created by Aflac’s new media team in partnership with New York-based Firstborn and The Kaplan Thaler Group.

The home page provides visitors with the opportunity to manage their own accounts, connect to and interact with the Aflac Duck on Facebook and Twitter, find an agent, and obtain claim forms.

Jeff Charney, Aflac senior vice president and chief marketing officer, said the company’s revamped Web site “breaks the industry mold.”

“Whether you are a business owner, broker, prospective agent, or a consumer looking for ways to help protect your family's finances, you’ll leave the site entertained and, most importantly, you’ll know exactly how Aflac can work for and benefit you.”

The site’s intuitive organizational structure offers sections tailored for consumers, business decision-makers, brokers, and prospective agents:
  1. The Individuals area explains how Aflac’s policies complement those offered by major medical insurers. For example, an interactive slot machine lands users on daily expenses, such as gas and groceries, to demonstrate how money from Aflac can be used when they are hurt and can’t work. This section also includes a video testimonial from a real family that shows how Aflac helps protect loved ones from the potentially devastating financial effects of illness or injury.
  2. The Businesses portion outlines how easily Aflac’s policies are administered and how supplemental coverage can help attract and retain employees. It also shows employers how they can make Aflac insurance available to their employees at no direct cost to their businesses. Business decision-makers can use a calculator to figure out how their companies can benefit from the tax advantages of making Aflac products available through cafeteria plans, while an interactive puzzle demonstrates the ways Aflac complements existing benefits.
  3. The Aflac Duck shows visitors to the Brokers section how easy it is to do business with the company and how much clients appreciate its value-added services.
  4. In the Become an Agent area, prospective members of the Aflac sales team learn how the company’s support system promotes business success.
