The Professional Insurance Agents of New York State Inc. (PIANY) will host its first Regional Awareness Program of 2010-MetroRAP on Thursday, Jan. 21, 2010. More than 500 agents, company representatives, exhibitors and other insurance industry professionals from the Metropolitan region and downstate New York are expected to attend.

The event will be held at the New York Marriott Brooklyn, 333 Adams Street, Brooklyn, N.Y.

The day will include a keynote address, luncheon, expansive trade show, education sessions, networking opportunities and more. The luncheon will feature the presentation of several awards, including: MetroRAP's Executive of the Year, Industry Professional of the Year, Distinguished Insurance Service and the Kozel and Moll Scholarships.

Participants can attend the education session Workers' compensation-Crossing state lines in the morning and E&O loss prevention for insurance agents and brokers in the afternoon.

The announced schedule is:

8-9:50 a.m. - Morning CE session
12:30-2p.m. - Keynote luncheon
3-5:50 p.m. - Afternoon CE session
5:30-6:30 p.m. - Networking reception
