The finalists for the 2009 E-Fusion Award have been announced by A.M. Best. The E-Fusion awards draw attention to the best and most resourceful uses of technology applied to the business strategy of the insurance industry. Each week in October, a finalist will present their entry during an hour-long Webcast.
A panel of three judges will review the entry and presentation with the winner being announced during the final webcast on Wednesday, October 28. The Webcast will be hosted by A.M. Best’s Group Vice President of Communications, Lee McDonald and Executive Vice President of Global Information Products and Services, Paul C. Tinnirello.
The first finalist is Capitol Insurance Companies with their Cap Online Producer Functionality application. The software assists with the management of traditional and non-traditional agencies by providing clear communication between Capitol and their agencies. The software also has the ability to track customer feedback and data.
The second finalist is Towers Perrin for their catastrophe exposure management system, CATography. The software helps insurers manage their exposure to risks and assess how new risks will effect existing portfolios.
The last finalist is Aon Risk Services and their Global Risk Insight Platform (GRIP) that allows Aon to track all of their placements and trading activity globally, from submission to quotes and binding. An advantage with GRIP is the easy way brokers and clients can view prices, coverage and limits that carriers are quoting and binding market transactions. The analytics of GRIP are done centrally through Aon’s Centre of Innovation and Analytics.
