Ben Stein, economist, lawyer and author, will be the keynote speaker at the 2009 LIMRA Annual Meeting, bringing together the leaders of major life insurance and financial services companies to New York City from Oct. 25 to 27. 

The event's theme "New Rules of Engagement," focuses on how the unprecedented events and a downturn in the market has impacted the life insurance and financial services industries and explores what companies will need to do to compete and succeed in this new business landscape.

"In this difficult economic environment, it is vital for leaders to have the latest research and knowledge to help them develop the right strategies to grow revenue and increase their market share," said Bob Kerzner, president and CEO for LIMRA, LOMA and LL Global. In addition, the program also will include a panel of CEOs discussing their strategies to overcome the current challenges facing their companies and industry at large. Members of the panel include Ted Mathas, chairman, president and CEO of New York Life Insurance Company and Don Guloien, president and CEO of Manulife Financial Corporation.

The meeting, which will be held at the Hilton New York, typically draws more than 500 top executives from LIMRA member companies in the U.S., Canada and abroad.
