OneBeacon Insurance Group is expanding with a foray into a growing market.

The Canton, Mass., specialty insurer has formed OneBeacon Energy Group, which targets upstream and midstream mid-market energy risks as well as alternative and renewable energy sources.

Initial coverage offerings, which commence July 1, include monoline property, monoline general liability, and general liability combined with auto liability. They are available to the exploration and production, transportation, and storage segments of the conventional oil and gas industry, as well as to alternative fuel manufacturers and alternative energy producers. OneBeacon Energy Group also will offer these coverages to manufacturers of equipment for all the industries mentioned.

Expanded capabilities will be developed and delivered later this year and in 2010.

Daniel Guida is leading the Energy Group team, which includes Dean Aylesworth, Rickey Johnson, and Anthony Recanatini.
